Travelocity Gulf Coast Guarantee

Support those affected by the Gulf Coast Oil Spill – With Travelocity’s Gulf Beach Guarantee!

You can help support the communities that have been affected by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico by spending your travel dollars there.  Travelocity just launched a ‘Gulf Beach Guarantee’, which runs through September 10, 2010. Travelocity’s Gulf Beach Guarantee provides that if you book a stay at one of the participating Gulf Coast hotels (located in Florida, Alabama and Mississippi), and if a governmental agency closes a beach located within 20 miles of the hotel, you will get a FULL refund for any hotel nights that you do not use.   The Travelocity Gulf Beach Guarantee further provides that they will notify you directly if a beach near your resort closes, even if it is prior to your departure.

Did you know?

Travelocity is helping those affected by the Gulf Coast Oil Spill by starting a donation drive, which benefits the National Wildlife Federation.  They are also trying to promote Gulf Coast travel to help boost the economy in these regions.  See Travelocity.com, for an interactive map of the beaches near the oil spill and to see which beaches have been contaminated.

The small print:

To be redeem the Gulf Beach Guarantee, you need to call Travelocity to cancel prior to checking in or out of the hotel.  If you just don’t show up, you will not get a refund.   The Guarantee does not apply to hotel + airfare vacation packages.  This deal may expire at any time and is subject to error, availability, blackout dates and does not include all taxes, fees and government imposed fees.  More restrictions may apply, see Travelocity’s website for full details.   Book your travel deal to the Gulf Coast on Travelocity.com.
