The Good:

Spirit Vacations makes it super easy to find their coupon codes and deals. Spirit Vacations doesn’t hide their coupon codes under tons of pages as some travel websites do, requiring you search travel forums for hidden coupon codes. Rather, simply click on the “Great Deals” tab on the Spirit Vacations home page, and you will see several coupon codes and new travel deals. We found 40 different deals today! We think that is really great. Spirit Vacations coupon codes combined with super cheap Spirit Airlines flights makes their vacation packages extremely cheap.

The Bad:

It would be helpful if Spirit Vacations provided us with an “available dates” calendar while booking. Sometimes when searching for vacation packages it would say, “We apologize but there were no valid flights found for the vacation offer selected. Please try alternate dates or an alternate origin/destination“. Well, unfortunatley we are not mind readers and we have no idea when valid flight dates are! If there was an “available dates” calendar that pulled up (preferably with pricing) it would make this task much easier.

The Spirit Vacations list of origin & destination cities is a bit sparse. Spirit Airlines is relatively small, and since all Spirit Vacations packages are paired with Spirit Airlines flights, your flight choices are limited. However, keep in mind that Spirit Airlines is one of the cheapest airlines on the market, so this is how they keep their vacation package costs low.

Finally, Spirit Vacations claims that they will not take “responsibility” if you have problems with your hotel reservation or accidentally left your suitcase inside your rented car like car hire dublin. They claim that they are only “responsible” for the airline portion of your vacation package. We are not sure if problems are common, and it may just be some legal “mumbo jumbo”. Nonetheless, be certain the hotel is suitable before you book it, and confirm your hotel reservation directly with the hotel before you depart.

The Fees *:

  • Cancellation fee: $69-125+ PLUS total airfare cost.
  • Change fee of $25+.
  • Airline tickets and Attractions are non-refundable.
  • Cancellations and changes must be made more than 48 hours prior to departure, or you cannot get a refund or make changes.
  • If the hotel charges a cancellation or change penalty, Spirit Vacations must pass this charge onto you also.
  • The hotel may charge a “booking fee” or “resort fee”.
  • You may not book last-minute packages (less than 3 business days prior to departure).
  • Checked Baggage Fees: $10.00 per bag each way for up to two (2) bags. When paying at the airport the fees are $20.00 per bag each way. It is a whopping $100 for each additional bag (items 3 – 5) per person, each way (only if there is space available will it be allowed).
  • RESERVE CHECKED BAGS BEFORE YOU GET TO AIRPORT! “Spirit Airlines can only guarantee the transportation of one (1) item as checked luggage per fare-paying customer at the airport. Additional bags are accepted only when reserved in advance online at www.spiritair.com. If not reserved, Spirit cannot guarantee that there will be space for additional bags and will not be held responsible for any additional items brought to the airport by the customer”.
