The Good:

Le Meridien hotels are like art.  Each hotel is distinctly unique and is designed to “creates a culturally refined, meaningful and stimulating atmosphere which inspires participants to celebrate the beauty of a moment and the possibilities for insight that live within common occurrences“.  Perhaps Le Meridien takes themselves a bit too seriously!   Nonetheless, Le Meridien hotels are exquisite, and have excellent reviews on TripAdvisor.com.

The Bad:

The Starwood Best Rate Guarantee is not as impressive as the hotels.  If you find a better rate elsewhere, they claim they will honor that rate and give you another 10% off.    The first problem we have with their price guarantee is the timing.  They only give you 24 hours to find a cheaper rate.   We also found it strange that the guarantee does not apply if you find a lower rate on any of the Starwood Hotels brand websites, which includes LeMeridien.com.  So, if the price drops on their own website, the guarantee does not apply.

The Fees *:

• Cancellation fees vary per Le Meridien hotel – read the terms on the booking screen
• Hot Rate hotels are pre-paid and non-refundable
• To cancel your Le Meridien hotel reservation from their website you simply retrieve your reservation by clicking “Check Reservations” and then “Cancel”.  Otherwise, you may call Le Meridien at 888-625-5144 to cancel.
