Angela, the creator of SabbaticalScapes is a former IT professional who decided to go on sabbatical when the recession hit and has apparently not yet decided to go back to work. She shares her journeys aboard cruise liners and in the places she visits, through her blog and photographs.
The Good
Angie, as she likes to be called, is a thoroughly delightful person – the kind of person anyone would love to meet on a cruise ship or stumble across during their travels. She obviously loves traveling and seeing the world. While her mode of travel is by sea, she often spends the majority of her travel time exploring the countries she visits. Her blog posts read like letters to friends with a few snapshots thrown in. A perfect example of this is her Ancient Empires Cruise – Incredible!! entry, which begins, “Thank you Aunt Thelma. Here are the details of our adventure…”
The Bad
With the exception of Cruisin’ to Cozumel? – 19 Tips for a Better Trip, we found little in SabaticalScapes that would be helpful to travelers looking specifically for travel advice. Although we love how Angie’s posts read like postcards sent to friends and family, we eventually got the uncomfortable feeling that we were eavesdropping. That said, we do recommend eavesdropping on Angie at SabbaticalScapes, at least for a little while, because she really is a charming person.
Thanks for your comments! In regard to “eavesdropping”, that is the exact personal experience many readers desire. I have had so many people respond positively that they actually feel like they are on the sabbatical journey with me and that they are inspired to go for their dreams as well.
Once again, I truly appreciate your review.
Peace & Blessings!
